Ronald McDonald House Alberta Wayfinding Signage
the project
As part of The Big Build expansion, Ronald McDonald House Alberta in Calgary needed a complete wayfinding update. Bond Creative designed multiple types of signage: room identification, building wings, parking and maintenance facilities, and other gathering spaces. We helped move nearly 400 designs through print production, all the way through final installation.

What We Did
The Solution
The creation of the identification signs was a collaborative process. We started by producing hundreds of clear acrylic panels with rear-mounted graphics to establish the background brand colours. These were shipped out to receive braille, black text, and icon elements on the front face. Once returned, room ID signs were additionally set within an acrylic frame, with triangular corner elements to recognize sponsors.
To account for future updates, we needed a solution for the room ID corner text areas. The letters needed to maintain the same dimensional look while remaining changeable. Through prototyping, our team landed on printing white ink onto clear vinyl — a durable triangular decal that can be swapped out as needed.
For large-scale building wing signage, we produced wall-mounted painted acrylic panels. The same material was used for dimensional letters, numbers, and horizontal bars throughout.
This project resulted in an accessible, comprehensive wayfinding system with room to grow and adapt.
