Ronald McDonald House Charities Donor Recognition
the project
Ronald McDonald House Charities Alberta was celebrating the growth of their Calgary House, which tripled in size during The Big Build expansion. To recognize the donors who made it all possible, RMHC Alberta wanted a unique interactive showcase that felt joyful, inspiring, and built to last. The expansion also called for the addition of an exterior donor recognition wall, and a variety of branded interior signage that would direct visitors through the new space.

What We Did
The Solution
Designed by AM/FM, the interior donor recognition display invites visitors to press a button that activates a custom-programmed lighting sequence inspired by the aurora borealis. Built for both impact and durability, the feature wall combines layered acrylic, CNC-cut panels, 3D-printed lighting rings, and direct-print graphics arranged in a dynamic layout. The lighting system was engineered to integrate seamlessly into a flexible wall-mounted structure, allowing for simple updates as new donors are added.
Powder-coated Fortex aluminum panels were produced for the exterior donor recognition area, with vibrant dye-sublimated graphics built to withstand the elements.
