Livingston Outdoor Community Monuments
the project
Between 2016 and 2018, we were tasked with creating a series of outdoor community entrance monuments designed to capture the spirit of the Livingston community through bold, memorable landmark features. The goal was to develop sculptural signage that reflected the community’s values, welcomed residents and visitors, and could evolve alongside the neighbourhood as it grew.

What We Did
The Solution
We collaborated with Brookfield Residential and landscape architects at L.A. West to design and fabricate a series of branded monument signs along with a bold stainless steel letter installation.
The first project in 2016 was an outdoor stainless steel monument was inspired by the Love Lock bridge in Paris, standing 10 feet tall and 20 feet wide. This “LIV” monument is constructed from interior steel framing and laser-cut stainless steel with a durable brushed finish, designed to stand up to Calgary’s weather. The modular monument was also built with future relocation in mind and is designed to be relocated to the front of the HOA building.
In 2017, we built and installed 8 community entry monuments, combining colourful geometric layers with rustic signage alongside L.A. West. We engineered powder-coated aluminum cladding over a galvanized steel frame to reduce weight and installation time, with modular bases.. Each unit features vinyl graphics, sealed with anti-graffiti laminate for longevity. All units were fabricated in-house and delivered with pre-drilled anchor points for seamless installation on poured concrete footings.
