Town of Okotoks Environmental Education Centre
the project
The Town of Okotoks’ Interpretive Centre was designed as an educational hub to create engagement around on water conservation and sustainability in the area. From 2016 – 2021, we partnered with the town to help shape and grow the space. An evolving, 4-phase approach allowed for thoughtful annual budgeted updates. Indoor interactive exhibits have tied in with exterior interpretive displays, connecting the exhibit environment to the surrounding landscape.

What We Did
The Solution
The indoor space features floor-to-ceiling graphics, layered wall-mounted cut-outs, architectural elements, and integrated text panels that work together to create a dynamic, immersive visitor experience. Custom components include rotating, double-sided interpretive wall panels and a central ecosystem counter with RFID technology. Layered panel construction adds depth and supports a tailored, engaging learning environment.
Outside, we produced and installed nine custom interpretive signs. Each panel was fabricated from highly durable, powder-coated aluminum featuring vibrant dye-sublimated graphics. Custom steel bases were fabricated with a weathered finish, allowing the signage to blend seamlessly into the surrounding natural landscape.
